Custom Theme Engineering & Platform Migration
We led the complete platform migration and full-stack Shopify development for Urbanlux.co.uk, a UK-based retailer of designer furniture, lighting, and modern home interiors. We transitioned over 3,000 products from an outdated, non-CMS legacy platform onto Shopify and engineered a proprietary, custom-built theme designed for high-speed catalog navigation and luxury brand storytelling.
Project Overview
We led the complete platform migration and full-stack Shopify development for Urbanlux.co.uk, a UK-based retailer of designer furniture, lighting, and modern home interiors. We transitioned over 3,000 products from an outdated, non-CMS legacy platform onto Shopify and engineered a proprietary, custom-built theme designed for high-speed catalog navigation and luxury brand storytelling.
What We Delivered
We executed a complete end-to-end migration from the legacy system to Shopify, transferring and structuring more than 3,000 products with clean taxonomy, metafields, and 301 URL redirects to protect search equity. Rather than relying on an off-the-shelf template, we designed and engineered our own custom-built Shopify theme from the ground up—featuring bespoke mega-navigation, instant multi-attribute collection filtering, rich product specification layouts, and a streamlined UK checkout experience.
Project Highlights:
- Seamless migration of 3,000+ products and variants from an outdated non-CMS platform to Shopify
- Engineered a proprietary, custom-built Shopify theme tailored for a large-scale luxury furniture catalog
- Restructured catalog architecture with advanced filtering across rooms, designer brands, and finishes
- Preserved organic search visibility with comprehensive SEO migration and mobile-first speed optimization
